Manzanar War Relocation Camp and the Eastern California Museum

During World War II, innocent Americans of Japanese decent called Nisei were imprisoned at the Manzanar War Relocation Camp. Today, a monument called the “Tower of Memory” stands as a symbol for the entire Manzanar experience. Nearby Eastern California Museum displays numerous interesting collections, including renowned photographer Ansel Adam’s “Born Free and Equal,” a collection of photographs of everyday life in the camp.
